May Special

May Update

Happy Spring, people!

It's the perfect time of year in Vegas, our weekends have been hovering around 80 degrees, despite the windy week days (Stupid wind...).

April was amazingly busy, but somehow shockingly uneventful.

The Evans Family has been enjoying the growth of Carol, she's all the way at 10lbs, 12oz now!

Brandon got the chance to marry some friends of ours on the 29th. He did a fantastic job. If you want to see/hear the event, go here.

Stay tuned for our May Specials and don't forget about our Referral Rewards Program!

April Update!

Hey kids!

Happy April! The weather is warming up here in Vegas and we've had some beautiful days. Trees are blooming, people are sneezing, it's definitely spring time in the city of sin.

We are thrilled to congratulate Randy, Lisa and Isaac this month on the addition of Carol to their family. (I told you this would be happening!) She was born on March 19th and was 7lbs. 10oz. and 21 inches long. We're all so happy to see her adorable face!

Business at the shop has been picking up as tax returns and the warm weather are bringing people out of their caves. Brandon is currently booked out two weeks (hint, hint...if you're looking for him to tattoo you, now would be a good time to book it, or else you might not get in until May!) Our other artists are also busy, but have some free slots open, so come in and check out their work and book your appointments. Slots are filling up fast!

Otherwise we're still going through the motions, work and sleep!

Hope you're all having a beautiful spring. Don't forget about our Referral Rewards Program and April Special!

P.S. We hope to be launching a newsletter this month that will include some great and fun things (that might just save you money!). I'll be pulling email addresses from our paperwork, but if you want to be a part of it and are concerned that I might miss your email address, shoot me an email at clair.evilutiontattoos@gmail.com

P.S.2. We're looking for artists. Know someone who is licensed in Clark County and wants to rent a booth? Email me at the above email address!

March Update!

March 3rd is our one year Anniversary at our Decatur Location!

It's almost spring in Vegas... maybe. Things at the shop are moving along, business has picked back up and we've got some new clientèle walking through the door! We launched our 'Referral Rewards Program' and thus far have had a great response to it. If you're interested in joining, shoot me an email at clair.evilutiontattoos@gmail.com.

We're still working out details with the property management people regarding correct licensing. It makes for an interesting time. Hopefully that will get sorted out sooner rather than later!

There are some new things in the works. We're working on developing a sketch night (an idea stolen from Justin @ the Ink Lounge) and considering putting together some posters to be purchased and occasionally used for prizes for drawing and contests. What do you guys think of that?

The Crew
It's been a slow month, news wise. Brian left us to join a shop closer to home so we have an opening for another artist (again, email clair.evilutiontattoos@gmail.com if you are interested.) Randy's wife is due this month with their baby girl, Carol. (So expect fun pictures and exciting updates for April!!!)

I started massage school three weeks ago and am loving it. Brandon pretty much just works, all the time, except when I make him come home to help me study. :-)

Hope everything is going well for all of you! Stay tuned in for the March specials and for upcoming events and deals.

P.S. Guys- scratchers are not cool. Please make sure you're getting your ink from a LICENSED, PROFESSIONAL tattoo artist. I cannot tell you how many fixes we have to do on crappy tats that come out of people's garages/houses/basements. Keep in mind that in Clark County it is illegal to tattoo without a license, and with good reason.

P.S. The Young Dubliners are playing at Wasted Space on March 14th. Be there or be square.

Referral Rewards Program

How Does the Evilution Tattoos Referral
Rewards Program Work?

  1. When you sign up for the Evilution Tattoos Referral Rewards Program, you receive a number and up to ten $15 off referral rewards cards.
  2. You hand these cards out to your friends/family members/ random strangers on the street so that they can come in and get $15 of a tattoo.
  3. When they present their card, $15 gets credited to your account.
  4. If all ten cards come back, you get an additional $25 off a tattoo. (This means that you can get up to $175 worth of tattoo time just for promoting us. That's over 2 hours free!)
  1. When all ten cards have come back in, if you still have people you want to refer, you are welcome to request more cards!

*Referral rewards cards are divided by artist and your cards will only be valid with your artist.

***Our Referral Rewards cards have not come in yet, but we're expecting them in the next week***

February Specials

February Shop Update

With the holiday months finally over, business is picking up! It's good to have people coming through the doors again. Tax refund season is always good for the tattoo business!

Shop Updates:
Brandon spent some quality time this month in meeting with the new management company for the shopping center the shop is in. There were a whole variety of recording and permit issues. As it turns out, despite this having been a tattoo shop before we moved in, the old shop never got permits or a business license! Have to love those upright business practices! According to Clark County our space was build-out free. Which, if you've seen our three booths, is certainly not the case. Everything is taken care of on that end though, finally.

Shop Crew Updates:
Randy, Lisa, and Isaac are still waiting expectantly for their little bundle of joy. Only a month and a half to go!
Lisa at 32 weeks pregnant and Isaac.

Brian was out of the shop for a couple of weeks at the end of January while he traveled to Japan with a friend.

It's looking like Eric is finally going to get his truck back this month! He's been waiting 7 months to get it repaired, and the autobody shop has been giving him the run-around.

Eric's Truck

Brandon and I are still plodding along. He's been working on getting the Evilution Tattoos website up and running. It's been giving him fits.
I spent the first couple weeks of January in Moab, UT with my mom, relaxing and catching up on some school stuff. I quit smoking and started getting more exercise. I start massage school of February 8th.

Shop Friends Update:
Our friend and client (as well as a very talented artist) Amanda and her husband (also a client), Jim had a baby boy on December 31st. Calvin was born a little over a month and a half early. They're looking forward to taking him home as soon as he is at least 4lbs and can eat regularly.

For those of you from the Valley, if you remember when the Vail Trail was in circulation, Amanda designed most of the covers.

Please send prayers and warm wishes to them, and wish Calvin a speedy weight gain so he can come home with his family!

We've got some exciting new things planned for the upcoming months. Keep your eyes on this blog and our twitter feed for updates!

January Evilution Tattoos Shop Update

Hello Everyone!

We made it through 2009 in our new location. Can you believe it?! A couple more months and we'll have officially been here a year.

It's certainly been an interesting year. Las Vegas offers many hoops for those wishing to own their own businesses. The health board, the business license office, and of course the ever present property management company. Hard to believe that almost a year in and we're still trying to untangle the threads!

We opened our doors on March 1, 2009, with Brandon and Randy as artists and one spare 'storage' booth. We had some wonderful help and support from family members and friends who were eager to see the bigger place in action. Since then we've seen one artist come and go and now have had the pleasure of adding Brian and Eric to the mix.

We've had a few great promotional events this year. Including raffles and gift certificate give aways at Little Darlings (thanks to Brian for setting that up for us!) and the Velvet Lion. Brandon's also been giving a shout-out to home by doing some give-aways at Screwballs, our local Broncos bar. Randy's wife, Lisa and son Isaac have been a great help in promoting and getting the word out about the shop.

We have big goals for the new year. We hope to add two more stations to the shop, and bring in some more talent. We also have some excellent new promotions and specials in the works. Maybe if we get lucky Justin will make his way out here and do a guest spot for us!

Brandon's been working hard on remodeling the website and we hope to have that up and running by the beginning of February. So keep your eyes peeled!

Randy and Lisa are expecting their second child, Carol, in March, so send warm wishes their way.

To all of our clients, friends, and family. Thank you for all of your support in 2009, and we hope to see in you in 2010. May it be a healthy and prosperous year for all!
